Quickstart

Install CODGuard, approve a plan, and take your first verified COD order.

Six steps. Most stores are live in under ten minutes.

1. Install from the Shopify App Store

Install CODGuard on your store. Shopify will ask you to approve the access scopes; each one maps to a feature described in Data & scopes.

2. Approve a plan

Open Billing and approve a plan. Start with Free if you are evaluating — it has no monthly fee.

Approving a plan is not optional, including on Free. Messages are billed through Shopify and usage records need a subscription line item to attach to. Until a plan is approved, the send-OTP endpoint returns HTTP 402 and no message goes out.

3. Turn on the app embed

Go to Online Store → Themes → Customise → App embeds and enable the CODGuard embed. This makes verification work everywhere on the storefront, including the cart page and the cart drawer.

Without this step the modal never renders and COD orders flow through unverified.

4. Set your rules

In Business rules, decide:

  • whether OTP is required before a COD order (recommended: yes, on every order),
  • which payment modes to offer — COD, prepaid, partial, or a combination,
  • any COD restrictions: blocked pincodes, a cart-value cap, excluded products or collections.

See Business rules for how rules are evaluated.

5. Style the modal

In Modal design, match the modal to your storefront. Colours, radius, padding, shadow, typography, button styles and every line of copy are editable, with a live preview beside them. Changing the primary colour re-derives hover, focus and tint states automatically.

6. Place a test order

Add a product, open the cart, and run the flow yourself with a real phone number. You should see the code arrive on WhatsApp, the checkout build correctly, and the order appear in Logs within a few seconds with its payment mode and risk score attached.
